Well if I take as long as I'm taking to finish this, I might as well wait for something like this. "Koenigsegg is also marketing an EV drive unit made up of two Quark motors, plus its small-but-powerful inverter, and small low-ratio planetary gearsets at each output shaft. The unit is called the Terrier, and serves up 670 hp and 811 lb-ft in a package that weighs just 187 pounds, and which offers torque vectoring across an axle. A Terrier can be bolted directly to a car's monocoque as well." My diff and engine probably weight about that much, But the Terrier drive makes almost 4x the horsepower. |

It is interesting, but power to weight of the drivetrain has never been the issue with EVs. Battery cost, life cycles, weight versus range capacity versus enviro impact of the raw materials, and proper disposal/recycling. Electrocution dangers from an accident to yourself and/or first responders. The complete system is far from green; much worse than ICE but a huge cost savings for mfgs, pushing all the emission problems on the power providers and battery mfgs. |

Also, with it saying Koenigsegg on the side, you know it won't be cheap. |
