I haven't seen any of these being used. They're torquier than many of the I4s. Is there a reason why not?

Vmax is fairly rare by comparison. It could be used the same as any.

Is that chain drive or shaft drive?
How do you plan to use it?

Theoretical at this point. Probably shaft drive.

Sounds like a really fun project {killer fast}. I'm following this :D The V-max is a pretty tall motor with the intake system sticking up in the center of the V. I would thing you would need a big hole in the hood? Is this theoretical build front or rear engine. Davew

I think Del Long built a WICKED solo car a few years back with VMax power. Of course everything he builds is crazy fast.

Good point. Once he got the oiling figured out, the motor worked out very well for him.
It's set up out of the box for front-engined- RWD, but my application would be to make it transverse.

My bud had oiling problems with that motor in the bike.

Was it a first gen or second gen bike? I have a 1st gen with upgraded oil pump gear and o-ring.

Here's what I'm considering as the layout for mine. I might use an additional factory pumpkin spinning in reverse to get the driveshaft going the right direction.

Holy power loss batman!
4 90° hypoid drives, going to need Flaggers so the torques know which way to go....

Look at how a dwarf car does it?
Take off the output hypoid and make a flange from the gear.
Turn the motor sideways and connect a drive shaft to the flange.

Too much fiddling for a first build to get that motor centered enough with the output shaft so far back behind the center of the V. I don't think this is going to work out unless I build a middy that could use an offset diff and super short driveshaft or a VW transaxle or something I don't know enough about anyway.

You don't have to get the Driveshaft perfectly centered. You're fine (and encouraged) to have a little offset. I don't have the specific degrees off the top of my head, it would probably be a quick google search.

Right. But I'd rather not take the whole engine apart if I don't have to. I've already replaced the transmission in this bike with a fully undercut gearset with overdrive 5th gear. I might just be better off selling the bike whole and using those funds to find an engine, whole bike, or wrecked miata to build from. I don't need every step to be sketchy... just some steps.
