@robbovius

No backlash so far, perhaps I need to put some more power on it downlow. Hopefully I can take it out again before the holidays kick-in.

As far as quiet, not quite. I took the muffle off after completing the tranny rebuild - it sounds more American
muscle. In certain parts of the vid you hear "rattling" from the diamond plated floor pans - they're not fastened to the chassis.

I ve just about completed the linkage for the reverse box and engine. I just tack up the the components for the time-being. Hopefully I can get the expanded metal soon for fabricating the protection cage.

So I drove to Charlotte this morning to meet Ryan and check out this gearbox for myself, since I need a reverse solution and I don't feel like taking out a 2nd mortgage to get something from Quaife.

Well after going for a ride in his car and trying out the reverse and overdrive gears, I am impressed. We have an agreement and I will be testing a box in a mid-engine layout in my car.

I will be sure to report back on our progress and give a full evaluation once the box is installed and thoroughly abused. ;)

Took my car out for a quick spin before the rain comes. I missed this past weekend's beautiful weather cause I was still working on the car some. Rfalcon shifts in forward, overdrive and reverse very well; at the moment too well. I need to adjust the spring plunger set screw to tighten it up - this keeps the shift level set in position.

In the top right corner of the picture is the falcon's carbon fiber cover mold. I'm going start fabbing-up Jeremy's gearbox unit.

Got to go, I smell rain

Ryan

I made a video reviewing the spring plunger set screw as a saftey feature on the R-Falcon box. I think i'm all set with setup now.. waiting for a break in the weather

Btw, if anyone is interested in testing send me a pm. I have an offer you can't refuse.

Thanks

Ryan

Hey everyone. Its been awhile since ive posted regarding the R-falcon unit. Not much info to update due to pending third -party testing; dont know when current tester will have his car ready. Therefore I'm looking for another tester of R-falcon for July only. If you would like to help out, you can get an old-stock design for $400.00 (this version uses cast alum). Proceeds will be used to automate manufacturing (gear broaching and billet cnc) in-house which will drive the alum billet version down to $800 USD. I think at this pricing point its fairly 'locost' compared to the competition. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Hi Ryan,

I just purchased a Hayabusa powered Super 7 with no reverse. Are you still looking for testers? The car already has a 2pc driveshaft and a support bearing in between. Mounting the reverse box in place of the bearing would be easy....shorten one shaft....and drive it.

Cheers,

Chris

Glad to see you are planning to get the price down to the Locost level!

Well.. not quite the fire sale costs on these old stock designs. Right under $1k is the goal from day one.Im taking a loss on these three so i can recoup funds for more equipment
