Here is my frame head getting an electrolysis bath.
Muck floats to the top almost immediately.
Probably old dirt, oil, and remnants of Evaporust.
I am using a 200A "Dumb" battery charger in "Boost" mode.
Water gets dirty pretty fast, not sure how long to run such a large part and it is already hard to see it.
I'm sure many here may have done small parts in the past.
I am using some 1/4" wire mesh I had laying around for the anode.
I will post an 'after' pic when it is done.

Hooray! Richard posted a pic y'all;!

Careful on the electrolyte mix to control the amps or the charger will be cooked. Consider the duty cycle for "boost" mode amps.

I do turn it off every fifteen minutes or so to skim the muck off and check progress.
Had to stop for the night as I could not see in the dark.
Water is too dirty so I will drain it for a good look and restart the process if necessary.

I only did this once, years ago, to a motorcycle gas tank. I filled the tank and inserted the cathode and anode. Then used a half amp transformer. I ran it for more than a week.

Lots of surface area to the frame head.
Ran it about four days and it did make a difference but was not so effective on the inside.
To get that area I would have to make up a complex Anode assembly.
Heavy scale was not removed but it was softened quite a bit.
In the end the additional rust-out and scale swelling between layers has me just replacing the entire head piece.
Still a useful experiment and I am sure it will work better for smaller items.

EDIT: I am also going to look into reversing this to plate the new part.

Pics of chassis on the build table before lopping off the old head.
Found a tool for checking the head angle in my 'That could be useful someday' stash.
Hmm, pics will not load so I will have to try again later.
