Hello, just wondering what dimensions (length / width) everyone is choosing for their build tables?

The plans I have show the chassis at just under 4ft wide and just over 10ft long.

Do most just go 8ft x 4ft and overhang the front and/or rear?

Also for the width that is only for the chassis itself not the suspension arms. Is it worth making the table wider or beneficial to allow the arms to hang over the edge so you can move them through their range of travel?

Speaking as an interested observer that hasn't started his build yet, most of the guys seem to have used a 4'x8' table without any problem. For myself, I plan on going with an 11' table. I have plenty of room in my shop, and I like the the idea of having the dimensions laid out ahead of time in Full Scale. Just my $.02 worth, but something to consider! :D

I went with 4x8 and it was fine. Since the rear section doesn't actually sit on the table, there was no problem having it hang off the back. When I was welding it on, I just shifted the frame forward on the table so I could measure up from the table surface to get the angle right.

I went with a table long enough to fit the entire chassis on top. I'm happy with that decision, but 4'x8' will work fine, especially if you're building the Champion chassis or one of its variants.

I built a narrow table supported on horses long enough to mount supports for my hubs at ride height relative to the chassis. The narrow table lets me work close to the chassis. See avatar at left.
