I would like to build a Locost chassis, use a Miata donor, and use the body panels purchased from Caterham. Does anyone have experience building with this philosophy? Thank you.
Engine choice primarily determines the chassis size.
Chassis size determines what nose and scuttle will fit or need modification.
Wider and taller allows a flat bonnet without protrusions and good ground clearance to the oil pan.
Build for a 1/2 inch bonnet to highest point on the engine and oil pan hanging one inch below the chassis.
Wings, nose, and scuttle would probably cost about $2000USD shipped.
Going through a US Caterham Distributor would probably add to the cost.
