I don't know much about cutting down windshields. Off the top of my head, I would think the 2 pieces of glass might have a tendency to delaminate due to the wind stresses without something supporting them like a piece of u-channel. On the other hand, Jack's Locost windshield design doesn't use one on the bottom. He does have a lower shape in the scuttle I think to support any rearward pressure. Of course, the bottom of a locost windshield is in a low pressure area. It is commonly used. Does anyone here have that problem?
