Just curious if someone has a different idea here. I'm using the fuel pump from the bike to keep things simple. I'm planning on placing the pump at one of two locations. I'm building a traditional car with front engine and rear mount tank.

I can put the pump by the engine above or below tank level. My other option is below tank level at the rear right near the tank. I'm *guessing* this pump is better at pushing than pulling and that the rear location would probably work best.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Danny

Sounds like you are not using the R1 fuel tank. Definitely put the pump as close as possible to the tank.

If you decide to pull fuel via a tube inserted from the top of the tank instead of gravity feed with a low outlet like the R1 tank, you might as well put the pump on top too for a shorter distance for the pump to prime.

Use a good quality prefilter to protect the pump. I’d use 5/16 or 3/8 steel or nylon line and add another, typical carb filter between the carbs and the hard line as a “last chance” screen to help prevent carb problems.
