The ride that started it all for me

1979. That's me in the passenger seat.

I think, now, that this is likely a Fejer 7, but impactful nontheless.

Pretty cool Greg, I can't tell in the pic if you had "cooler glasses" on. You know what I'm talking about right? I'm cool but if I wear these sunglasses I'm cooler

As for myself, I got bit by the bug later in life, with much less hair and a tool shed over my tool. I had built my Bushmaster II airplane and was looking at building another full size plane when a co-worker says to me "Why don't you build a Locost Super 7, the plans are on the interweb." I downloaded the plans, found a fellow Locoster in Edmonton, and reached out to him for a ride in his 2.3L Pinto donor Super 7. Well he gave me the ride of my life, on city streets no less, acceleration, cornering, upshift, downshift, and people stopped to watch or wave.
I.........was.....hooked.
I asked him the most important question that concerned me, "How do you get a home built car street legal?" He smiled at me and said "Well, you have to build it first!"
And the rest my friends is history

"No one ever told me I couldn't do it."
"If you can't build it safe, don't build it."

Very cool! I can imagine how exciting that must have been for you as a youngster.

Cheers,
Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.
