The only thing I dislike about that series is it makes me irrationally feel inadequate in my fabrication skill...

And it makes me think of a boatload of other things to do, which gets me running down rabbit holes.

So, now they have a CNC mill.
Apparently not sponsored as the brand is not prominently on display.

Looks like they have succeeded in making the car as or more complex than a late model production version, a pity that.

All I know for certain is that I intend for all of MY builds to be as much KISS as possible.
None will have a pretentious powered tilt front for example.
Very few will have FI, and certainly no turbo's.
Still some nuggets to be gleaned, but I found the earlier video's much more informative and entertaining.

Um yea, sure, always put $5K of paint on your rally car!
But at least it does seem it might actually complete this year.

Before watching, I wondered if they'd spend the entire episode on something silly like paint. I soured on the series after realizing that it's not their intent to finish in any sort of rational time frame. Yes, I realize that this is worked on after hours, and yes, I realize it's entertainment. But it's also advertising their shop and their abilities. Given this, why work to complete the project? The longer they stretch it out, the more YT subscribers they get, YT payments increase, tool companies are more likely to offer them free tools, and they get to show their creativity and workmanship. There's a car mixed in there somewhere, but to me, it firmly took second or third place behind the advertisement aspects. That said, it's their project, their shop, and can take as however long they want, but risk perspective customers thinking, "I'm not taking my car there, they take forever and keep adding on stuff."

It's not a rally car. They said right in the episode it's a street car not going to be raced.

They have at least two other projects, one in progress, and one in the wings. No real reason to prolong Binky that being the case.

Yeah, Binky got put on hold during quarantine for Project Racement & they have the Escargot in the works too. Then there's the MG shell in there somewhere.

Ya, Escargo and the MG were the two I was thinking of. Racement was, I think, a filler while they waited for their painter. Plus who doesn't want to drive on track. :D :D

Yeah, I went deep down the rabbit hole & watched the whole Binky series, to current, while working from home.
Racement was, IIRC, because it cost about the same as a high quality sim setup, and IRL racing > Sim.
I've only seen them mention the MG once or twice, so that'll be an interesting build once Binky's done. With things getting assembled in this last episode & the engine and suspension being teased, not a lot to go before it's wrapped up. Though, with the usual gaps in episodes, it'll be a few months.

As I recall there was a brief mention that it would "Probably be wrapped around a tree", which certainly sounds like Rally driving.
So if it's now just an overdone street car that is the wrong sort of mission creep.
I still expect to see it sold to someone for silly money before it ever gets on the road.
