Nice build, Chris! Stick around the VW Aircooled arena long enough - 30+ years for me - and you learn that 'GEX' is a short way to spell 'bovine excrement'...

How did your track day go? Any pictures?

I think transaxles are a great idea to have in our bag of tricks, I'd like to see this done more often.

It's been a while but after coming out of hibernation I spent some time wrenching on the seven again. I installed a windshield kit from Jack and Kinectic's. Overall happy with the results. The windshield is very sturdy once fully bolted on. The brackets look great but be aware they are sharp and need a couple of minutes of deburring prior to test fitting. Don't ask me how I know. One step closer to being street legal!

Ignore the dirty car.

Such a very cool looking car. I'd take it. ;)

Got a few items mocked up this weekend. I wanted to make the steering a little more rigid so I added this brace from Summit. It's light, about 3 llbs and by moving out the rear mounting point it really stiffens up the side the whole feeling.

I also mocked up my head lights. Found a position to keep them low for my personal liking.
