Trying to finish up my steering a bit.

The competition rack (picked up cheap) only had 1 turn in it, for a total of 2 1/2" of travel.

From ball joint to tie rod, the distance is 3 1/2".

It looks to me like I've got 40 degrees of travel over the range of the front hubs, all in 1 turn.

Current steering wheel for build is the 95 Camaro wheel.

Uh, is this just gonna be a very limited turning radius, or am I looking here at a suicidal-quick steering system, or both, or neither? The thing turns easy when I push it around the driveway....

The ratio is 9:1. Production vehicles are typically twice that.
Seems reasonable for a racing rack.

Thanks for confirming my later "research".

Which is pretty much what I have. Exploring a "Quickener" that I can run in reverse, give me maybe 12.5:1, which is about how fast the sports cars are these days.

I am using a sweet rack, the pinion can be changed to adjust the ratio.
