Hello. For a long time I look your forum and at last that dared to create the topic. I would like to hear the opinions and experience experienced.
I do not know where to start ...... I read a lot and studied theories. First I decided to build the 3d model of the project. Here is a photo of the model.

Absolutely. We had a guy on here a few years back from the Ukraine, and he managed to complete a fantastic Locost build. Best of luck.

Thank you. Yes, I read that topic. I also liked it.
And so continue. I decided to first choose the frame from the books on building. And he chose the one that more that would fit the chair. And then I started to design the suspension. What I did not like about the book. And I tried to adjust the levers, depending on the pivot and the steering rack, which remained from the old project. And it turned out that the attachment points to the chassis shifted. I decided to make the rear suspension on the solid axle and three longitudinal levers. Since the original on small parallel levers did not suit me.
So I started building. Do as much as possible means and time.
Yes, I also wanted to say that I did not want to do a super expensive project, and so that everything would be within my means.))

The machine is basically a donor VAZ-2105. This is the engine, gearbox, swivel fists, hubs, lower ball joint, front brakes, but the rear need to pick up from whatever the Japanese with a cable for the handbrake. But the rear axle took from VAZ-2121 it is wider and it is not necessary to put spacers. Ears cut old and welded new ones. Steering rail from Toyota Corolla 110th. The steering column UAZ, as the shaft is in the pipe, I think it should be stiffer than just the shaft.

Today I finished installing the front and rear suspension.
The shock absorbers took from Chinese motocross bike, as we have in hard to find 4 identical Japanese shock absorber (Honda, Suzuki, etc.), and gather them around the Internet there is no desire. These had to be modified to install the rodend mounting points. The spring is really very harsh 14kg/mm according to my calculations, I will order a new one with a different stiffness.

Will continue. At the moment I installed the steering column based on the arc of the 40mm pipe and the other end to the frame. To connect with the steering rack I bought crosses from Toyota and UAZ and bought the adjustable stock (with slots) from Nissan. Reduction bushings I machined Turner. And I welded the intermediate shaft.
Now ordered a 50mm tube wall is 2mm the cage, waiting to be brought. Even put the motor and box. I want to finish the frame reinforcement that would not interfere. But it turned out that stock the exhaust manifold rests on the frame, want to buy a 4-1 exhaust tuning and all be customized. Still in the pedals, too, want to make homemade. For the fitting cut out of galvanized metal, it turned out that they are long, will have to redo the drawings))
Also wanted to ask the experts, a on the bottom is welded steel sheet, but I want to install an aluminum, how thick it is better to put?

Looks good, but check the requirements of the state you live in. Some won't allow welding on steering components.

Sit, pedal design and have run into a problem. I completely removed the dimensions from the cylinder, measure the piston stroke. Move the pedal and see the pedal stroke less than the stroke of the piston. If you consider that the clutch fork goes as well as the clutch master cylinder, in this situation, the clutch will not fully Wiimotes. If you increase the gear ratio of the pedal, it will increase the force on the pedal. What is not desirable. Don't even know need to select something optimal. Or look for some other method. Anyone encountered such problem and how solved? Or maybe I should not panic?

You are doing good work, I like your models.

You have made a change from your Ansys model that may be a problem. You must find a way to provide the strength of the tube from the top rail ending to the bottom rail ending. This is normally done with the mounting for the trailing arms, but you have moved this.

Something like this green tube needs to go behind the trailing arm.

I agree! Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about this and decided to hold on to the last. The first option I wanted to weld this section of steel sheet 3mm, but it is a heavy design. The second option that you suggest me, but to connect the top and bottom not, interfere with longitudinal traction. As a compromise I want to do this. The photo shows that when fully compressed the suspension have a gap of about 7mm. What do you think?
