Sony,

Great bit of wheeling so far. That driveline is going to be a downright comical wall of torque. May end up needing some serious rubber. Any tire size the drift guys are using for fronts that'll fit the rear may be helpful. (The super grippy Falkens and other brands)

Even at 2100lbs the ae86 guys need to use softer compounds to get the tires to temp.

Haven't seen this mentioned... Have you considered using a flow control valve or a slipper valve?
Usually used by drag racers combined with a 2 step and 0 wheel speed in first gear to launch. Believe there's an ecu controllable one, but below is a straightforward option.

Looking forward to seeing the compound curves come to life.

Going to hammer form the headlight surrounds?

Thank you, the drivetrain will be a bit much but not incredible power like some modern cars. Pictured is this drivetrain setup at 7psi on the dyno (turbos we're rearmounted so it lagged a bit)

It will certainly have alot of torque but I'm not sure how quick the turbos will come online given the cars weight.

Tire is a good question. When you look at a donkervoortz they have similar power and make do with a 225 (maybe 245), though they weigh less. I'm thinking of using a c4 corvette size at 275/40/17, then running a cheap 595ss or less cheap 595rsr at the back

It's won't be good at any one thing as its a steet car so quarter mile times, or being able to set down a good launch dosent matter much.(really aught to replace some of the suspension joints with bushings instead of heims) if anything its more setup to slide having the 50° steering angle.

I'm okay with slipping the clutch alot for starts, the budget is tight and it's a no bells and whistles sort of car.(in that its supposed to be a little miserable to drive)

Spending this weekend roughing the frontend in with the wheel. The headlight surrounds are 1950's chevy with readily available bezels, the foglight is a problem since I can't find a 4" bucket to house it, might have to build it with the assumption I'll mount a similar sized offroader halogen in the area.

Wow, that is some serious lock, you will have no problems drifting it like a pro!

Really enjoying watching this come together, is the rod framing is just for shape? If so how will the panels be connected to the chassis?

The wireframe will stay in some places and be removed in others but it does need a mounting figured out. I'd wanted the fenders to come apart as individual panels but that's added complexity that'll slow the project down, so the whole front end will come off as one unit. I'm thinking run a 3/4 tube mounted to the chassis along the edge of the fenders as a surface to bolt to, but perhaps there's a way to make it a structural Reinforcement. I should shell out the money for a tube bender and a couple dies but I'm nothing if not cheap.

This build would look so cool as a time lapse from a corner of your garage, it's like the car is unwrapping its self from another dimension.

Tube benders here, rollbar and additional bracing across the engine bay will begin soon.

Driver side fenders almost "done".
And finally ordered the wheels I actually plan to use:

17x9 +24 SVE Cobra R replicas, they will be a bit heavy but the price was right and they're a nice design

I like the existing wheels.

I had a 5 speed coupe mustang just like that, set up as a Shelby SAAC clone with all the factory body work and badges but tbird turbo coupe axle, swaybars, wheels, trimmed springs, etc.

That sounds like a site to behold! Foxbodies are getting a little more rare these days.

The 'Vette wheels are growing on me too but they are all bent, and the bolt patterns 5x4.75 instead of the 5x4.5 of my hubs (meaning adapters/ spacers are required)

First steps of the cage have been made and the roof fitted, still more to be made but this is the primary hassle of tube bending.

The chassis is similar in side to most Locosts with a frame at 46" wide and 96" wheelbase. Here are some different shots with the Miata for scale.
