With the roof located the C pillar takes shape, next will be the rain channel. I'm thinking the tailgate might fit within what's left of the Beetles rear window profile, extending down to spoiler.

Is that cat calibrated? I can't tell how far apart the stripes are, is it metric or imperial?

Walter, while uncalibrated fits neatly into the Medium Sized Metric Cat catagory (MSMC) aka .724 for us Americans.

Imperial. Cats don't have owners, they have staff.

Throttle pedal has moved towards the driver 2" off the firewall which required bracketry, also a cable holds been cobbled together. It's a step in the right direction getting all the pedals ready to go.

Aiming to finish up the pedal box soon with a brake lamp switch, proper stops/return springs, and a dust cover.

Pulled the motor to replace the starter, finished welding in the engine bay, did a quick paint job, and starting to reassemble.

Drivetrains reinstalled and got back to fiddling with the body, large sections on top of the hood have been blocked out, the forward fender tops have finally been closed off, and the Barrels extending out to the doors leading edge have been located.

Amazing build, I literally joined just so I could see more pictures of this one lol… I’m sure this has been asked/answered, but do you have an IG you post pictures/updates to as well?

That's wonderful to hear! Currently I only post here and on this website under the same username: https://opposite-lock.com/topic/57383/s ... 4316199847
No Instagram account despite being a 20 something, however I should probably figure it out....

More incremental additions to the body: Rear wireframe reworked for the umpteenth time to fit a lexus SC spoiler, extended the rear fenders out enough to finally begin work on the C pillars, and roughly attached the forward section of the removable sill panel (lwr front fender)

For the rear end I'm thinking a slab of plexiglass tinted red for the tailight as I can't find any affordable designs that really "fit" the car. Going this route streamlines much of the hassle with the metalwork to integrate a traditional taillight, also various designs can be stenciled onto the plexiglass interior to form tailight shapes (see painting rc bodies) This will still have a traditional tailight behind for obvious reasons.

You have come a long way
Will the panel joints be fully welded or stay spot welded?

Thank you!
Fully welded seams but I won't cross that bridge until the body is complete-ish

You can add prismatic material behind the tinted acrylic for reflectivity requirements and hide the leds. One source is the lens from office fluorescent light fixtures. The pens can be formed on wood in an oven set to 180f or so to settle onto the wood shape.
