Looks good. Great progress. Might be in KC in the near future and would like to drop by.

Cheers,

I changed my lower arms for more adjustability.

New wheels that work with my mustang spindles, no 1.5 in. spacers now.

I've got the Mustang spindles and 3/4" spacers on the front. I'd like to get rid of them. Haven't looked into it too seriously, but have wondered about throwing the discs on a lathe and getting the lip cut down a bit so they fit together nice on the rim. The unfortunately part with that, is then my front track is going to be narrower than the rear.

I worked today on the upper shock mount design. I would like to incorporate the headlight mount on it.

Hi Mark,

I did the same. Headlights mount on the 1X2 that serves as the coilovers upper mount. Wires were run before the ends were capped. My headlights have the wire feed through the mounting post.

I wanted them on the low side.

I got my steering rack now to mount it.

Just an idea using a square cross member and flanges from 3x1/8 strip bent to match the angle needed to point the pinion at the best angle.

Can't tell from the pic but there should be short pieces of steel tube inside the rubber mounts. If not you need to cut some that have a snug fit to the rubber and are as long as the rubber inserts.

I would try to incorporate some type of adjustment capability in the flanges or the Sq cross tube. The odds of placing the rack in the exact correct position, relative to bump steer is pretty low. A design that allows you to add or substract shims usually works better then slot adjustments. Davew

Dave makes a good point. I neglected to mention the reason the blue flanges over lap the red tube on opposite sides. This allows you to c-clamp the flanges to the tube, centering and adjusting the height with a screw driver between the red tube and rack boss while checking bump steer before tacking anything.

Or just make the bracket flanges wider [blue] then the steering rack mount. Stack washers on both sides of the mount, so you can add/subtract shims to adjust the bump steer.
