On the cover.. I can't remember the cost.. maybe $60.00 I think.. Stitch is in fact a basic loop.. pulling the stitch tight is key- it takes a few times to learn to get it right..

The erratic stalling is back
, and now that I've resolved it I feel so stupid that it happened at all
Even though I've bypassed the tipover sensor, there are still problems.. The car would run great, but would fully cut out (like an electrical 'kill' ;all at once) either with an aggressive, quick turn, or seemingly when it got the revs up past 6.5k... I learned this as I took it out on the 101 freeway.. exceed 6.5k rpms.. sputter.. die.. // pull over- find neutral, restart, gear up, up, up, but exceed 6.5k, and full electrical shutdown.. // pull off/ neutral/ restart/ repeat.. I learned quickly to short shift it and make slow turns to limp it home.. This issue made no sense?!!..
Once at home, out of sheer desperation I started taking the firewall off just to see if something obvious would jump out; a loose ground? Rat-chewed wiring? ...Then I saw it.. Dangling down the side of the engine, right where I had left it (telling myself I'd go back and address it later), I found the kickstand position sensor just flopping around in the engine bay.. It's wired such that you can start the bike with the kickstand down, but if you put it in gear without putting the kickstand up, the bike immediately dies. THAT was my problem (it never was the tipover sensor).. this little sensor was banging around (quick turn kill), and maybe the vibrations at 6.5k+ also triggered it to kill the motor.. At any rate, I did what I should have originally done, and I pulled the sensor altogether and joined the wires, allowing the engine to think the kickstand is always up.. Now that I've hard-wired past it, the car runs flawlessly. Duh, duh, duh!!
