It's so cool to hear you guys jump in with your years and stories.. So many times I hear about couples- friends, coworkers our age (early, ahem, mid 50's
) who's relationship didn't make it.. It makes me sad.. we're so bless to have each other.. I got lucky with this one
6-11 to 6-17, 2021
As the sage Alice Cooper once declared, "School's out for summer." Several things are on the agenda this season.. First up, we've decided to go ahead and let the Volvo 1800 go to it's next steward. I need to go through it and tie up loose ends and detail it. I know it's because of Covid, but I haven't driven it much in the last year, and now that the Berkeley is a runner it seems a good time to let it go.
We also own a 2017 Ford Escape (salvaged).. it's not pretty, but it's got super low mileage and it fits out family's needs. I took a gamble when I rebuilt it, and it's come to bite me in the ass.. I thought the front impact had left the AC condenser intact, but the wreck did in fact puncture the unit, and I'm just getting around to replacing it.. Got it all back together and went to charge the system, but wouldn't you know, it takes r1234yf refrigerant, and my AC gauge fittings don't fit the service ports.. So I'll pony up the 150-ish needed for these bits and get it done. The nice thing about living on the coast is we almost never use AC out here
(I say that with no ill will to the 2/3 of the country that's currently suffering triple-digits).. we lived in HELL (Bakersfield, CA) for almost 20 years... I've done my time in the desert, even if it is a dry heat
