PerTronix ordered this morning.
I like being rid of the external control but hate the wait.

Hard to believe feeBay are SO incompetent but still in business.
They have fouled up my second T9 order, tracking now states that it is being sent back to the vendor. :ack:
Attempts at reaching anyone for resolution would be funny to watch if they were happening to someone else, they are an endless circle of wasted prompts and AI. (Artificial Idiocy)

Paid $3K for the Kent with Dellorto's and transmission.
I've learned the rule.
It does not matter what I pay for anything, if I try to resell I will only get about half back.
So I have to put it into something.
Around 100 HP in a Morris should be fun.
T9 OD should help with mileage.
Sitting on upgraded MGB suspension should make it even better.

feeBay assures me this shipment is not "Lost" like the other.
But still no new shipping updates and now overdue.
Almost funny if feeBay has to eat over $900.00 again.
Shipping company is UPS.

T9 is finally in North America, Canada, but at least on the right continent.
So I should have it next week.

Where did you get the Kent crossflow? I'm looking for one to replace the engine in a Spitfire I'm resto-modding. They are tough to find. I have the T9.

Got the Kent from another Lotus board.

Hard to believe, but feeBay/UPS have fouled up my second T9 purchase too.
I am getting a second refund.
The first was "Lost" in transit, the second went via Canada and was "Damaged".
So for now I will just use the Rocket Box and swap out for a T9 later.

At least I now have the cooling system plumbed for the test stand.
Price of simple strait radiator hose is ridiculous at $27.00 a foot!
Need a small piece for the Pertronix and another coil, then it will be ready to test run.

Ford Kent 1600 is ALIVE!
I rebuilt the twin Dellorto DHLA 40's.
Hard to start the first time but fine now, still need to tune them.
Had some trouble getting the Pertronix to work, ended up advancing the distributor one tooth.
Need to complete wiring up the test stand so that I have a fan switch, wire up the tach, etc.
Once I've been able to set up the tune and run the engine awhile I will do another compression check and hope all four are within 10%.
Engine sat a while before I got it, really do not want to have to rebuild this engine.
Not just the expense, the WAIT for machine shops is ridiculous now.
At least the oil pressure is very good.

Warm compression test, high 160, low 145.
Actually driving it may get me further improvement?
Really cannot afford a rebuild at this time unless it is unavoidable.
Oil pressure is fine, no smoke.
Carb tune is going to need more work, probably some jets.
Wish I knew which cam I have, getting some reversion at high RPM.
From the visible port work it is clear this engine is not stock.

I wouldn't be concerned about a 15# difference. Driving it a bit might free some gunk and get the vales to seal better or the rings to free up a little more. You're a better engine builder than I am and know better. I still wouldn't worry if they don't improve. Keep up the good work.
