Curiosity has got the best of me... And I think it'd be pretty nifty to be build a RHD car - as true to original form. I am using primarily one donor - an s10 - for my "major components" so the registration inspection should be fairly straight forward.

But would being RHD cause any complications in the CT process? Those in other states, have you done this and did it pose to you any problems?

thank you

I'm not aware of any regulation that requires LHD. We allow RHD vehicles as grey market imports after a certain age and newer when imported and modified to meet our requirements by a person certified to do the work. I recently saw an original RHD miata advertised on Craigs.

Not to mention the US Virgin islands, where LHD US spec cars drive on the left ...

For precedent, a hundred years ago US auto manufacturers were liable to put the steering wheel on either side, or occasionally in the middle, as their preferences (or possibly customers' preferences) dictated.

Also, the US Postal Service operates a huge fleet of right-hand-drive vehicles on public highways...

Even more weird, in rural areas, like Gainesville, Missouri, the mail is delivered by cars and trucks driven from the right-hand side even though the controls are still on the left! That took a little getting used to when I first moved here.

I've seen Subaru legacys, and Jeep Cherokee's as mail delivery cars before. RHD cars is nothing new around here.. But I wasn't sure if the title/ composite process wouldn't allow for RHD vehicles.

for example when you buy a RHD legacy, and go to register it.. Nobody knows that it is RHD in the DMV. We do not have a state inspection like that.

Interesting. I'm not yet at that point, but It is certainly in the spectrum of feasibility now.
