I just came back from the SCCA National Convention in Charlotte, NC today. Keep posted to the SCCA national website for more details. Sounds like they will be offering many opportunities to run your Seven at Track Night In America. So far over 22 tracks are planned in the US with more to follow. Tire Rack has signed on a title sponsor. This is real.
http://www.scca.com/Some high points to consider:
Tuesday thru Thursday track events 4pm to 8pm in the summer. (Your weekends will be free to do other stuff!)
20 minute group sessions
Nor required experience or instructors
Very basic safety requirements
$150 track fees with discount coupons available from major sponsors
SCCA members get to run for $35 if they have skills to work at the event for 2 hours.
They will also be offering some "Out of the Box" programs for Enduro racing door to door with no license required and no "Illegal cars" and classing options that will let everyone play like Chump Car.
this is not your dad's SCCA. The finally get it. Very promising!
