 Post subject: Measure Once Cut Twice

So it looks like while I started out well, I didn't do what I said I was going to do and draw everything out ahead of time. I got too excited and ended up not accounting for the difference in tube I was using and didn't end up putting the extra size inside the chassis. :BH: Luckily it was just the bottom part of the chassis, but if you are using larger tube beware if you are planning on keeping the external dimensions the same. A quick session in Autodesk Inventor and 5 minutes of breaking apart tack welds and I'm back to the initial square. Now to be more careful :mrgreen:

At least it wasn't measure once, cut twice, still to short. I've seen that happen.

As time goes on you will discover that it is not a big concern when a mistake is made or you come up with a better idea.
In no time at all you will think nothing of ripping your work apart to redo it better or differently, that's part of the reason we tack weld, just in case we change our mind when a better way is found.
And you will find better ways. 8)
