Just thought I would throw this out for comments.
Assuming my chassis ride height is parallel to the ground and if my carburator is level with the chassis, then I would have a 3.8 degree angle on my engine and transmission. If I keep the centerline of the transmssion parallel to the center line of my pinion I would then have a 3.8 degree pinion angle as well.
I can then do two things to set my base point, I can weld the brackets onto the tubes at a 3.8 degree angle relative to the front flat surface of my pinion itself or I can weld the brackets parallel to the face of my pinion and use the adjustable 4 link to make the centerlines parallel.
This excludes the final adjustmenmt of the pinion where some say a 4 link shoild be 1 to 2 degrees or leaf spring cars at 3 or 4 degrees etc.
Basically did people mount the brackets parallel to the face of the pinion to or did people compensate fopr the tranmission centerline and weld them off by a certain degree.
Or does this post show I am smoking buffalo chips.
Al
