yet again ive changed my plan. here pretty soon prolly goin to ge tmy metal for the chasis. as soon as i start my build ill take pics and move to the builders log. but anyways now im goin with a R1 engine and locost bike build. th power to weight is amazing and its still very possible to turbo charge and push out 200hp+. as soon as i have an engine ill understand a lil more about the build. but prolly what really drew me into a bike build was the gearboxes are so much faster than car builds. well be another week before a true update since thats my next pay check.

Yes the dark side is tempting and her lure is strong. The thought of 10000rpm and a sequential gearbox makes any gearhead salivate. The only think keeping me from doing a bike build (right now) is that I know little about bikes. The only bikes I ride have pedals. I bought a Miata as a donor thinking it would be pretty darn close to a single donor build. (read- "hard to mess up") For my second go round (yes I plan on building a few of these, one for each son and one for me) I might try a bike build, depending on how easily the first one comes together.

If I did do a bike build I would do an all aluminum chassis, another reason to put it off is I don't have a tig welder yet. :P Choosing the proper path for your first build is IMHO very important. You see a lot of folks with big plans and they burn bright early but burn out fast. Sounds like you are doing a good job thinking things through and considering all the options.

well im atleast at this point now going to atleast start my chassis build cuz either build idea i go with will have more than enough room in the book frame so thats my choice. now to start accumalating sp? metal for the build i was quoted pretty well round here at first supplier i went to so prolly go with them and get some frame building from them.
