Hey Graham are you still using the forklift alternator?

I have some fitment issues and was about to go down that path.

Any info is appreciated

I did sort of, I used the same form factor, but a race quality alternator. I decided it was going to get a lot of rpm's so a cheap and nasty eBay unit was not going to cut it, I also wanted a 1 wire. So I switched to one of these

http://www.powermastermotorsports.com/catalog.html#

Check page 42.

It's been working perfectly, gives about 12 volt at idle but as soon as you above that is's perfect, withstood over 2K track day miles so it's good quality.

Thanks. That’s awesome. I have been struggling with what that to use and that looks to be the best solution. I was going to buy a fork lift version but that one you linked probably makes more sense.

Any issues with the 1 wire and the ecu? Did you just not plug in your connector?

I just did not plug in the harness plug. I just ran the single wire with a ring connector on the end. There is bolt going thru 5 ring connectors, the main supply from the battery, the main feed to the wiring harness, the main feed to the ecu, the starter, the alternator wire.
