Has anyone used a tr7 as a donor? There's one near me that could be a decent donor.

I know miata is the obvious answer, but the price right now seem to be ludicrous. Like a mid 90s asking near 10k, at that price you may as well buy a boxster, miata is only always the answer when they are cheap.

First question for you is... Location, Location, location??? That may help us solve your riddle of the expensive Miata donors. The only real downsides to the TR7 vs Miata is ease of access to parts, and the strut type front suspension (but even that is fairly easy to deal with) as opposed to dbl A-arms!

So, where do you call home!

Southern Vancouver Island, BC. Used cars seem to be priced higher here than other places. Oddly enough there are a number of old british cars and european imports. But right now, people are asking 8-9k for early 90s stock miatas, even one that looks like it's hit a few walls on a drift course the guys is asking $5k. Even 6 months or a year ago, I thought they were high at a few grand. I don't know what's going on, right now the asking prices are ludicrous. I unfortunately don't have time to hunt around at the salvage auctions.
