Our cars hold an appeal with only a very small segment of society; you have to weigh patience against how fast you want to sell it. Mine took around six months to sell. As far as price, look around at what others are asking for similar cars.

FWIW I've sold 2 completed cars for les than $8k each
TETANUS had Toyota power. Blood Sweat and Beers had R1 power.

Both titled in SC and street legal with low miles on each build.

I sold mine via e-bay. Ironically, the guy lived about 30 miles away.

I've had no real bite from this site.

I have just posted here and at a car show. I did have what I thought was serious interest from two guys at the show. One actually came for a closer look but I didn't close the deal. I am interested in selling but cannot find the time to set up a barrage of adverts. I'll pro'ly just park it in the garage till Spring(ish) and see how I feel then.

I do think $13K for a Locost would have to be really special. Either top 1% of all builds or one with lots of track wins. Of course we all think our builds are in the top 1%, don't we?

Thanks for the comments price is negotiable, as it seems too high.

I think if you tidy up a few things that make it look not quite finished you will get your price. Grille, rear cover....stuff like that.
I have been offered $20K for the Hodgepodge by a Caterham guy at a car show, but dont want to sell it. I think it helped that he knew I had driven it to autocross that was 120 miles away from my home.
He was most concerned with reliability.

Some good advice. I think that a roll bar would help it look a lot more finished as well. Although I realize this is personal preference, I think that a different set of wheels would make a big difference too. That style doesn't seem to suit the car.

For reference, it took me about a year to sell my locost, and I had to let it go for $8300 Canadian.

Good luck with the sale.

Wheels are fine, reasonably similar to Dunlop's.
Just need to add the two-ear center spinners to look like knock-on's.

Don't be afraid of ebay, you might just be surprised. This is the beginning of summer, so that works in your favor also.

The selling prices lately on BringATrailer.com have been very high. If I was selling I'd use their site as it seems to attract a very knowledgable crowd that has cash to spend.
