FINAL PRICE DROP!
Got a deposit.

Recent PSA test result says it may be time to seriously prioritize, I will not know more for a couple of months.
Bought this one a while back and brought it up from AZ.
It has been a roller but is currently apart.
Could get it back to roller pretty easily.
I do have the build log for it.
Originally set up for a Mazzzda rotary.
I despise rotaries, so found a Ford Kent 1600 Cross-Flow with Webers and four speed which was not cheap. Kent is now going into my MM PU, can supply a good MGB engine and trans instead.
Some modification to the chassis will be required to fit.
I have a set of clamshell front fenders but no other bodywork or windscreen.
Does have a set of cut-down Kirkey seats.
Does have a nice set of Mustang wheels, I need to find time to gather up the pics.
At $1,700 for the roller. $500 for the MGB parts and one of the transmissions is a rebuilt.
No title, bill of sale and build log.

Well that sucks Richard, that's news no guys wants to hear. Stay positive (I know that's easy to say), they have amazing treatments nowadays.
This project looks a sweet deal.
Cheers

Found pics from when I bought it.
Not much has changed except that I bought the Kent 1600 engine setup.
They are a bit rare and "Correct" for some model Sevens.
I also have a set of clamshell fenders I was going to use.
There is a wire harness with more circuits than any Locost could ever use.
Not thrilled to be selling it, but in the situation I should concentrate on the other car I have waited fifty years to drive.
My Lotus Europa, which I have far more funds and time into.

@RichardSIA

As Perry mentioned, many advances have happened. So, wait until you have solid data to fully understand what options you may have.

It's the "hurry up to wait" sh*t that really kills ya. I'll think positive.

Best,

I set the engine rough fit into place today.
Needed it off the cart anyway.
Will need to move a couple of tubes and get a longer shift lever.

PSA is bouncing around, latest result was excellent, another test in ninety days.
Now Mom has had a second stroke, pretty clear I will not have time for this one so it may as well move along.
Can sell with or without the Kent 1600.

Parts list.

Includes almost everything pictured, here are a few highlights:

- Speedway Motors upper control arms
- Mustang II based front brakes and spindles
- QA1 single adjustable front shocks
- Aluminum seats – cut to be low back more vintage look, have the top part if desired to make full back.
- Aldan American single Adjustable rear shocks
- Dana 35 Rear axle (wrangler) with disc brakes (grand Cherokee)
- Spare 4.11 gear set
- New Aluminum Radiator
- New Keep It Clean wiring harness for lights, turn signals, main power distribution)
- Spare steel for the frame
- Wilwood steering rack
- Mustang Wheels w/ old tires (would want to replace tires once driving)

And of course the Kent 1600 setup I bought for it.

Looking increasingly likely that the Kent 1600 may end up in my Morris Minor pick-up.
Not much larger than the A series but around 100 HP with the Dellorto's.
Find a T9 and it's nearly ideal, plus still all British.

So the roller can go pretty cheap.
I simply have to cut the project list in half.

Any thoughts yet on the Locost price minus the engine?

Cheers,

I simply have to cut down from eleven cars to around six.
Like to see it go before the weather turns ugly.
So $1,700 should be very fair.
I will even include the clamshell fenders.

Took the 2-Post lift I bought back down for service and found that it is really just scrap.
Past abuse could probably be mostly repaired but that becomes another long difficult project.
Really motivated to move the LoCost now as I have to get another lift.

I am very interested in this frame, I have been looking for a while and this seems to be what I need. I am a tall guy so the extra room will be great.

I think I have sorted my lift issue.
Also decided to put the Kent engine into my Morris Minor PU, nearly the same weight as an A Series but twice the HP and an easy fit that was fairly common at one time.

I can now offer a running MGB engine and two trans with the Locost pretty cheaply.
That would make it a semi-traditional build.
