BAT is getting quite the bad name in the vintage scooter community.
They have had several scooters up lately that are what the community calls vietbodges. Scooters made from parts of several other scooters of numerous models and various years.
Some vietbodges are made by welding together several rotted out scooters together. A thick coat of bondo and shiny 2 tone paint; adorned with every cheap chrome accessory they can fit; 2 tone seats; and the yellow kickstand boots that are an instant clue. The engine sometimes uses pepsi cans for shimming cylinders. Factory correct fasteners are just a suggestion
Great for a static display in an Italian restaurant, but they can be a literal death trap. One guys' front end disintegrated while riding it at speed.
BAT keeps the ads up when issues are pointed out, by just stating with standard legalese that they aren't liable .
