For those in the Pacific Northwest, it appears there is a Series IV Lotus Seven for sale. Not sure if you can even get a title or tag for it.

What a find. That posting won't last the day for sure. Somebody will jump on it and take the trailer too.

I recall seeing it complete a few months ago for more $$$$. I wonder if you couldn't just remove the fiberglass and build an S3 titled as an S4 with locost power!

This is frustratingly close to me, and I am willing to help enable interested parties from further away.

Hmmm, no title or tag but has a plate. Still interested but dont have the $, space or time to collect so many miles away. Price is good I believe as a bunch of stuff is done & figured out….

Hate the nonTraditional fiberglass but could convert to std nose n rear fenders - almost talking myself into it. If someone in the SF Bay Area were to get it & not want the trailer, Ill give you the $300 for it - could use it to move my Classic Mini to get it sold (and finally buy a project locost)

Looks like somebody butchered the foot boxes too. The chassis is very different from any other seven though it could be adapted. Looks like more work restoring this than to build a locost but it would save on paperwork if you can get it registered. Most likely the seller did not transfer ownership so the bill of sale would not be from the last registered owner. Don't know if that'd be an issue.

Justin,

According to the Craig'slist map it's practically in your backyard! Are the straps and bungee holding the fenders on included?

Cheers

The S4 is a lot more practical than the others, with a hard top and doors, nothing to polish, full stone guards, a good axle, traditional uprights, and setup to clear a low maintenance, downdraught 2 barrel (the add-on fiberglass s3 scoop is no longer available but could be fabbed of course).

There was a racer called "X7" that used this chassis but looked traditional with cycle wings and aluminum. How far can a build get these days for $1500 (not counting the labor of luv)?

I'd ask if any of the parts taken off in the last six months are still available, like the hard top and doors. With a little to no fiberglass work to the bonnet, most any ohc L4 or ohv v6-60 should fit.

Spray some doo doo brown metallic, install some shag carpet, a few mushroom stickers, get your groove on and bring sexy back. It's growing on me (like said mushrooms).

I never liked the S4. I have to say it is growing on me. I am surprised that this is still available. 14 days later. If it is, perhaps there is some wiggle-room on price, although the price is already low IMO. Whatever work is needed should be in the wheelhouse of any Locost builder experieinced or wannabe.
