My favorite part of that description of "1957 Lotus Elise SC Coupe 2D" it the "2D" part. "Zero doors" doesn't have much of a ring, though.

WOW!
Best laugh I've had in months.
Some trucker is going to be really ticked off when he finds his aluminum skid-plate deck missing.
The bit from the seller claiming to be an advanced collector and "Just testing the waters" is great theater.
So why do I get the feeling he really lives in a run down trailer park and ride shares?

I feel like the seats detract from the nostalgia...

The seats definitely don't belong.

Another 7, no affiliation. Interesting exhaust and cage to say the least!

Saw this on FB: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 818313839/

A Google search for SB/1847 yields another Locost with the same number: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-lotus-seven-3/

Either someone wrecked the real SB/1847 and used Ron's book as inspiration for the repairs or it is another Locost sporting a real chassis number.

Neither strike me as 'real' Lotus. Could have been greatly modified if they did indeed come from Lotus.

Let the buyer beware,

I don't think it is a modded original. Besides the rear fenders, dash, and turning, the suspension is wrong. Looks like some machine turning of the firewall was done then the plate installed or reinstalled with new rivets at some point.

I wouldn't expect what was essentially a kitcar to stay original back when nobody cared.

No relation. Looks like it was built with offroad in mind, but has adjustability for the street.

Someone needs to tell him that the steering rack mounts in front between the front wheels, not on top of the dash!

It's built with too much ground clearance. (you can't just lower it (geometry))

What are those chinese coil-overs? Right out of a cartoon book.

It's way on the heavy side......

Someone was building a miata based rock buggy and gave up.
Raise or lower geometry depends on how much adjustability they put into their design. My last Locost could do 2-8" ground clearance with very little adjustment needed.
coilovers are bike / atv leftovers
