2024 Midwest 7s Gathering

Planning is in the works for this years gathering. I will be doing the final scouting run beginning of March. Planning NW Arkansas, maybe based out of Harrison AR again. We had one there in 2011 if my memory serves me right.

For schedule, I am thinking about May 16-18 or June 6-8 as a back up.

I have another british car club, http://www.GoBMC.org, out of Springfield MO that is wanting to do a day trip on the pig trail, which we are also going to do, and we may try to combine with them for part of it. I will also be sending a note to the Goblin group and the https://www.doveracing.net/.

As usual, it will be a short drive on Thursday for those that can make it, and full days on Friday and Saturday.

Spread the word, let me know if you can make it and I will lock down a date after I scout and talk to the restaurants

First day of scouting is complete. Lots of good roads and beautiful scenery. Should wrap up tomorrow and I will post all the details.

We are on for May 16-18 in Harrison AR. Please let me know if you can make it, what days, and if anyone will be joining you so I can let the restaurants have a count. As before we will have short drive on Thursday, Long drives Friday and Saturday and short drive on Sunday for those that can stick around. We will driving at least part of the well known Pig Trail, the Jasper Disaster and the Arkansas Dragon.

I will finalize the routes based on the scouting and post the final agenda. I personally cant wait to get my car down on these roads. They were a lot of fun in a daily driver and can only imagine how fun they will be in a Seven.

Harrison is a little bigger city than we normally use a base of operations so instead of everyone meeting at a hotel, we are going to meet on the outskirts of town. it will be a lot easier than trying to keep the group together driving through Harrison. With this in mind I didn't pick a specific hotel for everyone to stay at. I am a cheapskate (probably one reason I built a Locost) and will stay at the Super 8.

We are a week out. As usual I cant seem to get the weather to cooperate. Looks like a little bit of rain to start off the gathering, but it turns nicer as it goes.

I am going, although my '78 Spitfire is not currently up to the task because of a shockingly large set of oil leaks (even shocking for a British car). I will be there in a rented ND Miata!

Finally made it to Harrison. My old truck didnt like pulling my heavy trailer up the hills through Branson.
