Last minute stuff. I took the S2000 out for a drive and the brakes felt weak. Ya can't have weak brakes in the mountains so I replaced the front pads and bled the brakes and while I was under there I changed the oil.

The fluid was the issue. It was dark and thick plus one caliper shed blue firm gel type bits. I've never seen anything like it. I put up a pic so it could ruin your dreams too. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

I believe the black bits were things that were already in the bottom of the butter tub I used to bleed the brakes into, but I saw the blue bits come out of the bleeder so I know that came from the brakes.

The brakes work fine now, but there's that little niggling voice in the back of my head which says I may need to rebuild that caliper when I get back.

ATE used to sell blue brake fluid. They had some kind of trouble with the DOT over it.

We made the Big-Time guys! http://www.ozarkcountytimes.com/news-local-news/homebuilt-sports-car-enthusiasts-visit-ozark-county-weekend

Our local paper gave us a nice blurb with more to come.

I can't wait to get on the road this evening to get down there. My wife described me this morning like a kid on Christmas morning.

We're having a wonderful time here in the Ozarks. Went on a 150 mile blat this morning. Stopped for lunch in Gainesville, Mo. The rest of the guys continued on from there, and I went home for a bit to tend to the critters and other odds and ends before returning to Mountain Home for dinner with the gang.

Wish y'all were here!!!

I Just want to post a quick note to let everyone know that Mary and I made it home safe and sound. We left Mountain Home about 0700 this morning (5/13). We made a pit/fuel stop in Rolla, MO and then drove straight home, with no further stops. We got to the house just before 1400 this afternoon.

I've attached a picture of the mileage we drove on this trip from the GPS for your entertainment.

We'd like to again extend our thanks to Russ, and everyone else who helped, for a wonderful weekend. We has a really great time. It was good to see old friends again, and make some new ones. The roads were pretty spectacular - much better than we have in Illinois.

Hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip home.

Bill Bernard
