The wife was going through my Locost records last night and we discovered that I have owned my Locost for exactly 15 years. I bought it off of Ebay sight unseen from a guy in Houston and it has been my love affair ever since. How long have you had yours?? Russ

Started build 11/7/2013
Installed VIN plate on 5/26/2020
Finished, TBD, but probably never. Its more fun to drive it than to work on it now.

2392 days or 6.5 years from first metal cut to vin plate installed.

Longer than I planned, but I also didn't plan on new job, relocation and a son spending way too long in the NICU.

Started planning 2006, bought a very unfinished rame in 2007. Was running by 2011. Like Chris's more than likely never to be 'finished'. Running and driving for about 6 years but only 2,000 miles. See no reason to stop now.

Started collecting parts at the start of 2017, titled in mid-2019. I didn't do a ton over the winter of 17/18 but over 18/19 I was putting hours into it almost every single day, especially towards the end.

Bought the Birkin kit in 2015. Finished in 2017, still tweaking things. Runs great, about 3300 miles now.

registered mine in 2012, build time 2 years off and on, thousands of miles on it, never finished, first i added electric power steering, then a supercharger, now i have to stop as i don't have a shop or any where to put the car except in a crate but there is a tilt column sitting in the passenger seat awaiting installation.

Registered first one in 2012, second one in 2014, third one 2020.
The second one which is our go to 7 has just over 16,000 miles on it.

I picked up my CMC frame in Dec. 2003. Had a few breaks throughout the build process though. Moved 12 hours away and left the car at my parents house for 3 years before I could buy a house, got married and had kids, spent a couple years autocrossing it with no bodywork or electrical system and had too much fun to want to tear it down to actually finish it. This year I haven't even pulled it out of the garage yet, but I've got a track day in 2 weeks that I'd like to go to, 6 hours away and I think I'll try driving the car rather than trailering it.

My first build, the Seven, started construction in 2003, on the road in 2005 or 6 (cant remember, too many beers and too many concussions), and was sold in 2010.

My second build, the Eleven, started construction in 2007, and was on the road in 2009. It was sold in 2013.

My third build (the chassis was fabricated), the Europa, was bought in 2013 (a week after the Eleven was sold), chassis construction started in 2014, and was finally back on the road in 2018. It's current residing in my underground parking at home and is used occasionally.

My fourth build.... well it's not really related to Locosts, but it will endure a motor swap and other modifications. It was purchased on my birthday this year and will probably take another year to make it the way I want.
