Hey fam...wassup? :D

Excellent commentary above, and all of it 100% accurate, regarding: volunteerism, reliability, community, life's distractions, money's lack of usefulness, and the value of storing your own photos and content locally.

First, the good news:

The site is back up and running, with no loss of data. Sorry for the 10-day interruption. I hope this yielded great productivity in your garage.

The photos are back up. They were never lost...I just moved them out of the site's main folder while doing maintenance on the site. They take up SO MUCH ROOM that other operations were painfully slow. I just forgot to put them back where they belong after the site was back up until now.

And now, the good news:

I took a stab at upgrading our phpBB server a while back (probably after the 2019 crash?) and hit some obstacles that I didn't have the time and energy to overcome. I looked at this again, and it *appears* that the updaters are in better shape now, so I'm optimistic that I'll have better luck next time around.

Yay Dave! Woohoo!

PS--if somebody has a <USA7s.com> account perhaps they can let those guys know <locostusa.com> is up and running again. Maybe the same for the FaceBook page (whose name I forget).

[edit -- Dave Hempy already did it for the FB page]

I am another that really appreciates Dave's efforts to keep this site up. I know it's an undertaking I wouldn't want to tackle and I have plenty of time. Just not enough smarts.

And I can see why (perhaps) Dave refuses to accept money. If he did then it would become a job. No cash keeps it in the hobby classification. I could be wrong.

Again I say thanks Dave!

Cheers to all!

Dave, Dave, Dave! What can I say? We are all in your debt. You make this site work. Sometimes it may not feel that way. Thanks, thanks
and thanks again!
