What would you guys recommend to wrap the wiring harness with? Seems popular options are friction tape, braided split flex wrap, or heat shrink tubing. I'm definitely not going with heat shrink tubing due to the cost, hassle, and lack of access. I've never used either of the other two products. Thinking the friction tape with zip ties on the end would look pretty sharp. I like the look of the braided wrap as well, just not sure how it would look for the corners, I've got a few 90 degree bends. |

I like the braided split wrap because it lets you add or remove wires anytime. I don't like the split plastic corrugated stuff as it's highly temperature sensitive and doesn't run around corners cleanly. |

The friction tape, of which you speak, has been around since before I could open my Dad's tool box. It does get real messy when exposed to an engine compartment environment (heat, oil and so on). You might try these guys https://www.americanautowire.com/shop/harness-tape. They have a vinyl nonadhesive product, which would nicely complement the braided stuff. I used the braided split stuff on my Cushman. I liked it. You still should tape the areas where a circuit leaves the main run. A propane torch to heat up a putty knife makes a good cutter. Het it up, then just melt your way thru the braid. It seals the ends from fraying. Friction tape is a no-no IMO. That stuff gets real gummy over time. If you ever have to work on it later...…..OMG! |

A lot of the final flexibility depends on the number and size of wires in the wrap. Also the more the wrap is filled with wires, the less overlap the flaps have for making the curves/corners. Going to a larger size wrap, helps in the tighter corners to keep the wires covered. Here are a couple of in-process pics of my Cushman build showing a corners, loose bundles before running to their final location and the electrical wrap I used on the ends and junctions. I always use the Self-Wrapping Split Braided Sleeve from Pegasus Racing. It covers multiple sizes as it self tightens around the wire, heat and abrasion resistant. I always have a couple of sizes available. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... oduct=4011 Graham |

I'm a masochistic freak, I use braided expanding fingerlocker sleeve with glue lined shrink tube for final wiring. Every branch gets split out from the continuous trunk. Comes out looking amazing, but man is it a pain.  I think lacing would actually be quicker. |

I keep seeing the word braided? Harbor Freight sells slit wire wrap in 3 sizes. It is not braided just fluted and split. A few tie wraps to close it up and your done |
