I was wondering about the chassis when creating a string computer. Is it just a generalization until the pick up points are determined, or does it need to be an accurate representation of the chassis? I imagine it needs to be in the ballpark, but it seems to me that it relies on the suspension more than the other way around.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything specific in my research.

I hope that makes sense.

TIA

It isn't clear to me what you are asking.

Ballpark the chassis, as I would assume your uprights, wheels, and tires are already known. If you have built the chassis already, I would accurately put it into the string computer, but keep in mind the suspension pick-up points at the chassis end can move. It just means making a bracket to accommodate where the points end up.

Thank you, that is what I was thinking would be done once those three things were set

A late comment: since your suspension design will drive bracket geometry don't forgo the opportunity to iterate on track width so that you can use a stock rack rather than having to shorten one. That's what I did, and although the car is a long way from driving my shop test of bump steer (with a laser pointer and a target) showed good results.
