I bought a quick ratio rack from Quaife for my Sierra LHD rack. I noticed that the gears are going the opposite way,do you guys think they sent me gear for a RHD rack?

Not enough information. Definitely won't work with your pinion though.

Sorry,I apologize. They did send me a new pinion to match,my concern is the pinion gear is angled the same way as the original gear and it seems like the new one angles the opposite way. So the original tilts to the right while the new one tilts to the left...

At first thought, a LH vs RH drive shouldn't be the reason for the opposite angle. At least, not technically. Perhaps they are different due to the different angle of the pinion relative to the rack. Come to think of it, it likely is due to that. Either way the rack's gear angle must be matched to the pinion. Let them figure out who is at fault and let them resolve it.

The reason I posted on here is that Quaife has not responded-they have terrible communication. I am concerned because I need to have this gear shortened and don't want to have that done to a RHD version! I was hoping someone has had a RHD version apart and could tell me whether the direction of the gears matters-I am under the impression it may...

Pictures save a lot of typing.
If the pinion meshes with the new rack when held at the angle dictated by the housing, and the housing places the pinion above the rack, and the rack mounts behind the wheels, and the housing puts the pinion on the end of the rack closest to the road center line, then it should work fine for fitment to a domestic rack for driving forward on the right side of the road as viewed from the drives seat on the left side of the car (typical domestic market vehicle config).

I suggest when the tools come in, assembly with the new parts to check fit before modifying anything if you hope to get your money back for the part or the machining if it is done wrong.

I finally contacted Quaife and they did confirm it to be correct-once I was able to disassemble the rack I found the new pinion to be also going in the opposite direction so it should mesh fine. Now I can get this thing shortened and put the rack back in the car...
