The Gurney Westlake (Eagle) was a pushrod 302W with 3 valve heads There was a cammer Gurney Westlake but it was a V12 Then I found this http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=detomaso;id=1;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ebanzairunnerpantera%2Ecom%2Ftech_info_64ford_twincam255%2Ehtm So it seems that Ford had their own Lotus-ish 4 cammer 260ci motor in 64 appears to be pre Gurney. Then later Gurney did an inverted flow pushrod Windsor, this was perhaps rule inspired as USAC was likely quick to step on the OHC motors that were whipping the snot out of the production based motors. If you win too much with a certain combo USAC changes the rules to quiet the whiners, if you beat the big 3 too often they will change the rules to favor them. |

There were 2 BMR 16 cyl motors one was a V16 the other was an H16 which was like 2 8cyl flat opposed motors stacked with the cranks geared together. http://pilotesanciens.blogspot.com/2013/02/complexity-misses-mark-1967-brm-h-16.html |
