Thanks - it works great and I bought some water based ZEP that really gets the grease off.
Had to work on the Mini today. Spent the day swapping on some new tires, going through and completely lubing the chassis and checking things over. It's a great Mini. One issue I was having for the last 5 years or so was a belt squeal if I turn the AC on (it has a Rover Japan AC set up and a vintage under dash blower). I completely disassembled it and realized the bracket had horizontal adjustment when it needed vertical adjustment to make the belt tighter. So I used some 3mm plate and completely fabricated a new bracket that works great!! I am super psyched about that, since it has bothered me for years. Then I realized the front subframe had cracked at the front! Like completely separated. UGH! I thought I may have to drop the entire engine/gearbox/subframe to fix it. Thankfully, I was able to get in and remove the right front suspension, pry the subframe back into the correct position and tack it. I flap-wheeled both sides and seam welded it back together. Then I took some 5mm plate, drilled four holes through it (in a row on a long rectangle that covered the underside of the front subframe crack by about 3 inches on each side (total length of 6 inches). Then I welded it up around the perimeter of the plate and welded up the holes to the subframe as well. It's way stronger than it ever was stock now!

On the Seven, I did get a chance to finish rebuilding the Miata calipers, which was on my list. I'm still trying to work out the throttle cable, but I think I'm going to press forward with the ideas I have and use the OBP pedal box.
Before and after on the rear calipers. I like black better than red!

Finished off the evening work with a local brew - great place in an old firehouse that is right down the street from my work, and now they offer my favorite offering at the local beer store.

Still welcome any and all throttle ideas!! I've gotten a few good ones from the Haynes Facebook page, of course from this page, and from some private messages. THANK YOU!
