Hey guys, life is finally getting to a more stable point where I can start my parts acquisition and garage prep. With an upcoming move to a more scratch built friendly state, I have decided to go with a Midlana type build. In order to learn how to weld, while also making useful things, I have built a brill, fire pit, and my smoker over the last year. Last weekend I made a welding cart to help me move my tools around the garage. Unfortunately I forgot to document the build...

Castrol put your location in your Avatar so people will know where in the country you are. You never know someone local to you might help you. Practice welding is the best way to learn, so keep building useful items. I also have a fire pit to weld up when ever all this rain we've been getting stops. Russ

Please let me second that admonition of "Location, Location, Location"!!! And for the reasons that Russ mentioned!

Well gentlemen I just attempted to fix my profile somewhere in the 6-9 time range and each time it sent me to a blank screen... :BH:

I’m currently in west Texas moving to Louisiana.

The user control panel has been broken more than once.
It has been fixed, but not backed up.
The last restoration it reverted back to a pre-repaired version again.
It took around 2 years to get it fixed last time.
I don't know why it doesn't get saved in a backup.
Or why it appears to be a "hacked" version of the forum software.
You will notice at the bottom the signature line is cut off.
That tells me the forum software has likely been modified, but not the why.

Castrol you made me feel guilty so I went out today and welded up my fire pit ring that has been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years. Keep us posted on the build. Russ

Here is my progress on the welding front. It has been fun, but I cannot wait to get to Louisiana and hopefully have enough stability to focus on the car build!

Damn!!!! If you can weld like that you won't have any problem building a car. Russ

I appreciate your kind words, I can’t even tell you how many hours of YouTube videos I watched be fore I attempted my first weld. The car in your profile pic is awesome, I can only hope mine (if I can ever find the time to start) comes out half as good as yours!
