Thanks. Wait till the orange and green hit you. Like a side slap to the head. As weird as it was being so cold it felt good to be back in the seat. I want to take a road trip in this thing. It may beat the snot out of you with wind. I have to figure out how many miles I can stand in one day.

Steve, I had a 600 mile drive to get to my first Midwest Gathering. Only one day down and one day back. It was a couple of hours in the rain on the way back too. I only had about 150 test miles on the car before I left home doing 70+ MPH interstate most of the way. Not the best, long term driving conditions for a Locost. You haven't lived until you experience the spray from the wheels of an 18 wheeler traveling 70MPH down the road. I will admit, it wasn't below freezing that weekend. It was mid 90's as I recall. Beat that! The gauntlet has been laid down. :drive:

I should be good then with 3400 miles on then. Man that’s nuts. Your crazier than I thought. I have spent 5hrs in it already in one day. Wasn’t too bad. I should just do a short one first, god that’s a heavy gauntlet.

If I remember correctly that was the Arkansas gathering and Chuck came with John and got the Iron Pants award. Didn't know then that there were so few miles on the car. Car was really nice. The luggage rack didn't hurt either.

Larry, that was the one at "The Hub" The drive wasn't too bad except for the heat, the wind beating us every foot of the way, the noise where we couldn't talk to each other..... It was made a bit easier by having to stop for gas every 1hr-15 minutes. We had a great time and met a bunch of great people. I couldn't believe how much black road cr@p could find it's way into every orifice in my body! Never before and never since have I experienced that. I wouldn't have traded that trip for anything.

Steve, a 5 hrs drive is a lot of seat time. Stretching that to 12 or 13hrs isn't that much more, really it isn't. You sort of get into a groove. That drive and the next Gathering convinced me to put the hardtop on. Then my medical problem at the one in Cuba MO was my awakening that I should trailer it. I believe it was Nick (?) that drove his car a few miles further than that to one of the Gatherings. I don't think I would do another 12 hr drive at my current age. You still have a few years left. You can do it. You can take up the gauntlet. That is, if you dare.

Maybe in future Gatherings we could offer a "Locoster's" version of the "Iron Butt Award"!

I recently came across 1 (only one) C4 caliper on my shelf. Don't ask how- long story. If you want it- just pay for the shipping cost from Lake Geneva, WI and its your!

Thom
Can’t pass up that deal. I may be down to Racine in a couple weeks. I can pick it up from you. If something falls through I will pay to ship it. Sounded like a good reason to run out to LG.
I still have the C4 caliper. I will be back in WI after April 12th.

Thom

Well I think I’ll have to have you ship it. I’ll send you whatever it costs. God knows when I’ll
Get down there. Last year we were talking about this and the whole world went nuts and my parents went into hibernation. Crazy.

The updates are slow in coming but it is going forward. The weather is spotty anyway. Fill prime is on as of today. He’ll wet sand and paint next weekend and maybe stripe. That will be crazy exciting. Closer to the completion page. What is it the 10% club?

Eye searing color. On the fly today we changed the striping from green to cream to calm down the orange. That will be this week sometime.

I was hoping to see paint on it when I clicked and I was not disappointed. That's bright! Looks good.
