I recently took the 1800 out on the "Faultline 500" vintage car rally in central CA.. The car did great.. It was my first rally, so I didn't really know what to expect. There were some rough roads, and many participants drove their vintage cars HARD.. I caught a lot of grief for using the AC on the run; I guess I'm expected to maximize the suffering in the heat
? The Volvo ran well, and after the rally I looped up past Sacramento to pick up my youngest daughter from a stay at aunties.. in total, about 1800 miles in 4 days.. Blistering heat out in the valley (about 104-ish) most days. The car did reveal an odd flaw with the AC.. all was well up until the last day with about 200 miles to go.. The AC would slowly stop cooling, and would just blow ambient temperature (103 at the time).. I learned that if I turned off the AC for about 20 minutes, and then turned it back on, it would again blow cold for about 20 minutes, and then go back to blowing ambient temp- frustrating! We did this on/off cycling the rest of the way home. Since returning home on the coast, it now seems to be acting normal again, and I can't get it to replicate the flaw
..
I'm in the process of submitting all of my pics of the 1800 to BAT for the upcoming auction.. I don't have a date yet, but I'll post it when I get it if you'd like to follow along.. I'm a little stressed about the date because I'm taking the Berkeley up the HAN in Reno in a few weeks, and I'm thinking there will be some overlap... I'm very nervous about letting this little sweetie car go, and how the market will respond.. We'll see
...in the meantime, here are a few of the pics I've submitted..
