I saw that earlier. I thought the chassis was to be given away. everything else was for sale. It doesn't read that way now. I think the $200 is simply a catch amount with no intention of selling it for that. He says in the text "make an offer". I'm not sure how he's going to handle selling parts and the partial chassis. With Facebook, we'll never know. It doesn't have a "sold" page like eBay does.

That has been popping up on FB for a while. It seems a bit steep on the dollar amount and not quite my cup of tea in design. But good luck to the owner with the sale!

If that's actual diamond plate, that thing must be quite heavy

I would never call that a Lotus 7 replica. It is definitely not my style.

I will say it is clearly an individual's vision and I give him/her credit for seeing it to conclusion. Who here can say that they have accomplished that?

They do make an aluminum version of diamond plate. I don't know if they used it, but I'd guess they did. Otherwise, it would be very heavy.

Cheers,

I re-read & the listing does say alum dia plate.
Makes a bit more sense. Though the diesel engine is a head scratcher.

Looks like a successful effort to build an all weather seven that few have attempted. I think I've seen that posted on customer reviews of fenders on etrailer.

Definitely diamond plate aluminum (3003) and probably .095 for the fenders, maybe less than that for the flat? Not exactly portly and you don't worry about someone hitting it with a grocery cart. Diamond plate is a pain to polish but one could level the diamonds or at least bring them down, but not for 17k. Cudos for getting it past the PA DMV. I know of someone with an actual Caterham kit that had trouble with some of the made-up bs.

Much more interesting than the typical locost. I drove a kubota diesel powered lola bodied locost a few years ago and it was not a slug but shifts came up quick.

Found the pic from 2016 on etrailer.

One mans dream, I suppose. The nissan turbodiesel is an interesting choice as well, probably don't need many gears with that torque.

Moving on...
1991 Maxton Rollerskate, never heard of it, but looks well finished...
