Challenge: Quit Being a Guest and Register With Our Group.
I was doing my usual thing this morning and checking in to see what's new. I happened to notice this at the bottom of the pages:
If it is accurate data, I was the only "real" member signed in. 2 registered bots were also here. 193 "guests" were here just looking around. I'm sure some of them are "bots" too, as a result, not potential members. Accounting for that, it leaves a lot of unregistered guests as potential members. Some of you may be locosters who never bothered to register. Others may be interested in Locosts and just haven't gotten around to registering.
So here is my plea. If you are a real person and at least a little interested in Locosting, or any other car related construction, please register. It costs you nothing. The benefits, frankly, are not much more than you get while being a guest. We don't have secret club pages. Everything you will see as a member, you get to see as a guest. We don't share/sell your personal data. That I know of. The advantage of being a member is you get to ask questions and get some pretty good answers. And you get to become e-friends with similar minded people from all over the world. Who knows? You may even teach us something too. That's what we are here for, sharing ideas. We are a polite group without a lot of drama like some other sites.
Join our little corner of the internet if you will. Or not, and keep on creeping our site.

@rx7locost
I've noticed those "guest" figures before, but never that large a number. It makes me wonder who they could be?
I second your idea, however. It would be nice to see some new builds start too.
Cheers,

Damn! That front slip angle is way too large and the Ackerman is just a muddle.

I lurked on here for a while, before joining.
Then the moderated delay for new members to post topics/replies puts a small damper on things.
But, I did a ton of reading until I got past that point.

I'm usually one of the guests. For some reason my computer wont stay logged in, so I typically browse as a guest. I'll login when I feel the need to post, but that's a rarity these days as I have no projects on the go due to the current restrictions.

I'm a guest virtually every day, unless, like now, I want to reply to something.
I drop in a lunch time most days, but I can't stay logged in on my work computer.
And according to the counter, only myself and Bing [Bot] are logged in with 72 "guests".

I'm guessing you drop off the counter after so much idle time.
My browser is normally open & logged in for days at a time.

Would help keep people if the UCP was useable, and passwords were able to be set to user-chosen...

My password is user chosen. I did it some time ago. Have things changed, and that's not possible now?

The 'Profile' link in in the user CP is broken & leads to a dead page.
Can't edit profile (location, user pic, and I'm assuming pwd is in there as well).

I also tried replying to a question in the license forum but it's been quite some time and my post still isn't approved.
I'm new to this forum, do I have to wait for an approval for each reply or is it a one time thing? Thanks

I believe it's until you reach a certain post count. Probably helps weed out bots & spam.
