3 wheeler ideas
I plan on building bike based build. One that looks something like the one on this site http://www.mride.se/index.html. Except i want it to be a side by side like the one at www.go-t-rex.com. Anyone one build anything like that? I could use some pictures for ideas. I would like to be able to enclose the drivers compartment because it gets cold in ND.

[thread jacking] Did you ever try that design I sent you for your hood, using more of a vane type vent instead of a grill? I thought that would have looked really sweet. [/thread jacking]

No, *however* I agree it would look really good. I plan to mock it up with two vent panels per your recommendation, then go out and drive around. My main concern is, by curving the vents, it cuts the outlet cross-sectional area down by probably 80%. That's a huge hit to take for asthetic reasons and suspect it'll lead to overheating. That said, the grill material I used probably cuts it down by 1/2 already.

awesome, cann't wait to see how it looks
Though, thinking about it, I'm not sure it would restrict 80% of flow. A grill is putting a restriction on the opening. The Vanes are diverting flow more then they are blocking air flow. About an 1/8" or less is the actual restriction of each vane, the shape just diverts the air around the shape. Not sure if that made any sense or not, but yeah. It shouldn't be to bad.

I Really like that SUB3 that RebelGT posted the link for ....(I was jealous I didn't.)
Nice but only a single seater. What fun is that if your cant scare a passenger out of their wiits.
Avion (sp?) Black Jack has a classical look...
Isetta a funny little Three wheeler that saved BMW
Morgan Three Wheeler ... when men raced by the seat of their pants, intution, and leather helmets and googles. (1915-1950ish the morgan, not the men)
I would love to see more three wheelers in a competeive road course work...autocross and road rally racing. (I am not saying they would win or be as competetive....but they would be fun to watch and EXPAND the knowledge of three Wheeler handling )

I saw the SUB on Saturday and IMHO it's too low to be driven on the freeway. Get any closer then 30ft to an SUV and it simply disappears, they can't see you in any of their mirrors. That aside, the fit and finish was first rate, very impressive. But being even more invisible than a bike on the freeway is bad news. Though many make remarks about the Norton Shrike, it is far better suited for the streets. But that's just me.
In case anyone's wondering, this is the SUB:

Being less visible next to a A SUV driving cell phone talking distracted by the kids soccer mom is a little frightening.
The Sub 3 looks first rate....I would love to see it perfom against the Cup20 and the VW three wheelers in a mixed venue....drag, auto-x, and road rally.
I wonder alittle about the traction of those motor cycle tires....
