"7" Grill Insert - Group Buy Interest?? - WRAPPED UP!!

Post by botbasher »

Rather than resurrect the 2013 Grill Thread, I figured I'd start a new one because it'll be a totally new offering.

This is the one fru-fru piece I have been dying to make for my car. JPSEuropa was kind enough to forward me the .dfx file, so now I have what I need to make mine.

In the process of trying to get one punched out in my shop here at work, we figured it'd look like poo (just can't get those sculpted edges), so I inquired about getting it cut at our local water-jet fabricator. Even at his "good guy - we send you about a million $$ a year of work" price, a single piece is still about $65 for a single piece. Ouch!!!

So I ask him what the price break is if I got a bunch cut at the same time... say a dozen. clickity- click.... 12 at a time would be $20/ea... OK, how about 24? clickity-click... call it $15/ea. Wow.. pays to cut a lot!!! Next real break was at 50 but I don't see that happening... never know though!!

So, with those prices in mind... for a Stainless Steel 14ga "7" logo for your grill... Who's interested in a group buy for them?

Here is the drawing I'd be using... will not modify it from this. Size is about 8.75x7.75 (HxW)
Image

As an added bump... if Stainless isn't your bag, I can Cerakote it (ceramic paint) in what ever color you like. Pink, purple, blue, Gonzo Green... you name it and I can make it come really close (there are almost 100 stock colors to choose from)!! Here is a sample of the latest "toys" I've been 'koting for my side biz...
ImageImage

For a $10 bucks more you can pick what ever color you like. If you like I can even shoot 10-32 stainless studs on the back of it so you won't ruin it having to weld it on to something. We go through weld-on studs like candy here, so no charge on those!!

So, is anyone interested? Gonzo, KB58 and a couple others can vouch for my integrity from when I was supplying louvered sections. Many got them before I ever took a cent for shipping, so I am sooooo not looking to scam anyone.

PM me and I will start a list. Once I have 12 names I'll plunk down the cash and start the ball. If I get more than 12, I'll do the big order. I'm thinking that this will fit in a USPS flat rate envelope or box (if studded), so shipping should be $5.25. We'll settle up when I'm ready to ship it to you (want nothing up front... just creates issues and expectations!!).

So, who's in???

I didn't specify stainless thinking that was the default.

Premature post was never a problem. Premature finish might have been once upon a time in a world far, far, away.

I'm old and the memory isn't as sharp as it once was.

Did I mention the memory isn't so sharp anymore?
