Daniel's S-10 build (slow but steady)

methinks it is time to start a build thread... the build had been on a two year(ish) pause, but i started back on it recently and have decided to log my trials and tribulations publicly...
as of right now, i have half a roller. this means that the front suspension is done (less the newer, longer, springs) i am making the build album in my facebook profile, it will be linked from here, feel free to browse, its fully open to the public... if this doesn't work, i will try somewhere else...

gonzo, ive been a member here since '05, but thanks anyways... i have been working on this car off and on for a while... the first one got scrapped with my help from frustration, so this is go #2, already further than the first. hope all goes well with this one

I like the fact that you have stood the control arms out so they run parallel with the chassis. I have never liked the control arms out of line. I might suggest that you brace the lowers so they dont want to bend off. Nice start!!
A flange around the portion of the LCA at the ball joint would be recommended.

you cant see it, but the flange is 1/4" thick, 2 pieces of 1/8" welded together in a triangulated kind of way like the "book" flange just had to come to a flat spot for the ball joint to bolt to. basically using ex-nascar/ dirt car stuff... upper a-arms are stock pieces, the lowers were 2 mis-matched a-arms that i cut and used their mountings to make new ones. now i just need to decide if i want front, or rear steer. got these spax coilovers but are about an inch too short.

seem you did already lots of work, looks good. keep the good work. your lower a-arm attachement looks, bizarre, fragile. but your welds, wow.

cool, real nice weld, where are you from, cuz i'm planing, whene my lotus done, do a lot's of mileage with 2 of my friend thru america, mine is not build for race, but road.......and for me, keep the family in good shape is important......you can pm me if you want..

no problem, i live in concord, north carolina... just outside of charlotte
on another note, i did get to see the mcbearen before it was totally done and before the suspension was redesigned... it looks amazing in person, more so than photos

ive been a bit busy with work but the engine is in, not welded but it is sitting in there

also, i love these little scissor jacks, the junkyard guy lets me get a few of them, they are perfect for use in these situations. i must have about 5 or 6 of them right now

I was gonna say, that rear trans mount might need a little work!
